Wanderlei Silva, one of the best fighters in his time, should be considering if it’s time to hang up the gloves. On Saturday, July 2, Wanderlei lost to Chris Leben in the first round by KO through unrelenting punches. It’s a common sight we have seen in UFC, superstar fighters losing by KO that wouldn’t have happened if they were many years younger. Chuck Lidell retired after he got KO’d by Rich Franklin and Randy Courture to Machida. Wanderlei is now 2-6 in his last eight fights. It’s hard for amazing fighters like Wanderlei to quit. Usually it’s from close friends and family that must tell them to quit. Fighters are used to proving others wrong and having extreme confidence with themselves. However, there were no signs in the Leben fight that he has anything left. Anymore fights and his future health is in endangered.
